Hello World!  I guess it’s high time I told you about me & why I decided to write about healthy living thru good eating & exercise.  I’m a grandma so I’ve been around a while & know a thing or two about life; both pros & cons. I’ve done a lot & seen a lot, been to many places in my life.

I don’t preach at people; only offer suggestions & it’s up to you to do what you please with the info. I’ve made lots of mistakes throughout my lifetime (done some truly dumb things), but I’ve also done some things right! I’ve laughed & cried; had fun, travelled & planned poorly sometimes.  I have a son I’m proud of, a very strong daughter in law & 2 beautiful grandkids! I am far from perfect; nor will I ever claim to be but there are some things I know about: Healthy eating, exercise, gardening, cats, being kind to our planet, etc…

I’m an avid reader; love sci fi, Dr. Who, Star Trek to name a few. I love the sunshine & usually hate the rain. I could never live in the northwest as I’d be depressed most of the time without the sun! Am I telling you too much? (I’m not good at talking about myself as I sometimes wonder if people really want to hear about me)…

so much!  I’ve been a firm believer in exercising most of my adult life, & I also eat pretty healthy by most standards, but I’m far from perfect. I haven’t eaten red meat or pork in 30 years or so. I am not a vegan or a vegetarian as I do eat poultry, fish, & seafood.

Supplements have also been a part of my entire adult life & I walk 5 days per week, do 100 crunches daily (half in morning & half in evening), also do yoga, & stretching exercises.  Many years ago, a golfer told me that if I did crunches it would keep my stomach muscles stronger & take pressure off my back. I’ve never had a good back & I believe this works so I do them 7 days a week.

I eat 3 meals a day & I never skip breakfast as I feel that is an important meal for me (or anyone for that

matter). breakfast starts your day off so if you eat a good one, you’ll feel better all day!  Point of information: I don’t like to cook! I do it to live, but I’ve never lived to eat… That may be why I don’t have any weight issues.

I have no degree in nutrition as I first studied fashion design in college & then

liberal arts. I decided not to be a teacher & have been in sales most of my life.  Good nutrition runs in the family. Healthy living is important to me as well as leaving a small footprint on this planet as it’s the only one we have.

I also have strong opinions about what I believe in & can hold my own in a good argument, but these days, there are a couple of topics I avoid as they tend to get way too heated. I’m a strong woman & I raised my son on my own from the age of five, so I’m an A type personality. At times this is good, but at others, not so much…
