Welcome to My World – Issues – Pics Disappearing – Light Bulb Moment
Hello World! Went to my blog from an outside link & it appears that my pics from pixabay.com (which offers “free” pics) have disappeared so I guess I’ll need to find 
another source for pics? I don’t understand what happened; just one more thing to figure out.
Today is not a great day. UGGGHH!!! I just want the images, not the links so I don’t know what is going on. I have no idea what Hot Linking is!! I’ve obviously done something I’m not supposed to do, but don’t know how to fix it. I imagine this pic will also disappear. Google, here I come… 
On top of this I got a bill from Pinterest for ‘I don’t know what‘ & Pinterest is NOT user friendly so I must figure that out as well. What a wonderful beginning to a new year!
As they say, it can only go up from here. I need to find some help! As I’ve said before, if I could “just” write, I’d be doing great! Unfortunately, that isn’t the case & I am so tech challenged & now I’ve got so much more to figure out. I thought figuring out how to drive traffic to my blog was my biggest issue; now these other things pop up. Well, I guess, I’ll look for a new source of stock photos. 🙁 or is it the same wherever I get pics from?
I’ll try saving pics to my computer & then transferring them to my blog – DOESN’T WORK (I can copy, but not paste into my blog)!; & I’ve also tried emailing the pics to myself – unable to copy & paste. Emailing pics doesn’t work as I am only able to “copy” but then I can’t paste into blog; same as emailing pics to self. Same thing happened when I saved to Word. Neither works. I don’t want HOT LINKS (whatever they are); all I want are the pics!
I have NO CLUE what “hot linking” is but it appears that I will have to download pics to my computer prior to putting them on my blog. I don’t understand why & it will be extra work, but it appears I have no choice. I also must go back into each & every post I’ve written & redo pics! All they say now, where the pics once were, is “NO HOT LINKING”. Wish I knew what that was… 🙁 RIDICULOUS!
The website I’m using said the pics were FREE to use! So I have no idea what happened. Sometimes, the life of a “tech challenged” person makes me want to scream as I am that TECH CHALLENGED person!!! I am unable to figure this out today. Break time.
A day in my journey that isn’t so great – TODAY! Welcome to 2017! It must go up from here! Thanks for listening to me vent. Once again, I know that one day I’ll look back at this & laugh at myself. At the moment, I am NOT laughing… It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been so frustrated with the process, but today is making up for those few weeks that were good to me! HELP! 
I just googled “hot linking” & it appears that I am not supposed to copy an image & put it in my blog straight from the website, but when I try to save the image to my computer, it doesn’t allow me to paste it into my blog, so I am lost. If the pic is free from the website I got it on; it specifically says free, I don’t understand why this is “hotlinking“. What is the good of a site with “free” images that I can’t use?? Now I am truly confused. I’d love some suggestions.
Well, I believe I experienced every emotion possible yesterday: from 
anger, frustration, feeling dumb, & then I finally had a light bulb moment! Oh, how I love those! I’d gotten off the computer & was sitting in a hot tub & it dawned on me why I couldn’t use the images I downloaded to my computer. It was so simple. I have no idea what ever possessed me to think I should copy & paste. That is not how I download pics from my computer.
I also think I basically understand what “hot linking” is. I wish they simply stated upfront on their website that this is not allowed. It would save the tech challenged (ME) from wasting so much time… I hope that this will help someone else who is reading this. That is my purpose to sharing my journey.
Now that this is figured out & it WORKS, just like any other pic on my computer, I need to download them. Whatever was I thinking? Or maybe I wasn’t thinking, but I was definitely having a “blonde” moment. I feel much better now that this is figured out. I’m smiling again. The “Light Bulb Moments” are so much more rewarding than my “blonde” moments. Oh, well, I guess I wouldn’t enjoy the first without the 2nd happening.
Today I have to go back into each post & fix the pics. I have so much “downloading” to do – first to my computer & then from my computer. Extra work, but what else is new? Just another day in the life of a “tech challenged” blogger… It does get better!

I got the pics fixed on about 10 days of posts. I’ll do more tomorrow, after I write tomorrow’s blog.
