calcium is needed in your body, magnesium is also required. Magnesium is Nature’s relaxation and anti-stress mineral, since it plays an important role in helping your body combat stress. It is necessary for your healthy artery, blood, bone, heart, muscle and nerve function, yet experts think that about 80% of the population in North America may be deficient in this important mineral.

Magnesium is vitally important to our health and well being as it is involved in the production of energy for most of your bodily processes, and even the structuring of your basic genetic material is dependent on enough magnesium. Your body also requires adequate supplies of magnesium to manufacture approximately 500 enzymes needed for basic life and metabolic functions.

A typical dose of magnesium is 800 mg. daily and you usually take it with calcium supplements; if you’re supplementing with calcium and you aren’t taking magnesium, it can cause a depletion of your body’s reserves of magnesium.

I found this to be an excellent read and I want to add that after previously

You should try relaxing in an Epsom salt bath

posting about Epsom Salt Baths (magnesium rich), I’ve taken a few and plan to continue on a regular basis. Three times per week was the recommendation so I’ve decided on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. (*see my previous post if you have an interest*) The info I found said that magnesium is more easily absorbed thru your skin than your stomach so I will keep you posted about how well it works. I have osteoporosis and some arthritis and joint pain so I’m hoping that, in conjunction with the calcium I take, it will make a difference. One unexpected benefit seems to be that my skin is smoother and heals quicker. I never expected that, but I’ll keep you posted. I may be on to something here 🙂 …

I hope you got as much from this as I did. I definitely plan on taking this to heart and seeing how well it works for me.

Have a great day!
