Welcome to My World – Allergy – Sensitivity – Unexpected Symptoms
Hello World! How are you today? All’s well here. Today I’ll talk about allergies & some unexpected signs you may have them… I found this to be very interesting info & I want to further study this as it may explain a few things to me about some of my “ailments”.
Surprising Signs You Have an Allergy or Sensitivity
You can forget runny noses & itchy eyes as your allergies can manifest in many unexpected ways.
Allergies, intolerances, & sensitivities don’t always turn up as your runny nose & itchy eyes. According to the author of The Allergy Solution, your allergies are “great mimics” because they can manifest in unexpected ways. You may be suffering an allergy or sensitivity-related symptom & have no idea that an immune reaction is the cause of your discomfort.
These are some of the common symptoms of a sensitivity-related reaction or allergy that, on the surface, appear to be something else.
- Weight gain
Allergies can lead to your unexplained weight gain, or an inability to lose
weight despite changes in your diet & lifestyle. Studies have also linked your antihistamine use with increased body weight.
- Muscle aches
Your sore muscles have been associated with some of the classic allergy manifestations, like asthma & eczema, & have been linked to certain food intolerances & reactions to specific metals, like nickel. Galland says many of his patients with a sensitivity to mold report muscle pain.
- Joint pain
Your Allergy-fueled arthritis, often triggered by problem foods, is one of your most common, “hidden” allergies.
- Fatigue
Your feeling tired as a result of a sensitivity has been dubbed allergic tension fatigue syndrome, & a food intolerance, often to
wheat, corn, milk or chocolate is likely the cause.
- Brain fog
Galland says your trouble with concentration & memory is often linked to food intolerances & mold sensitivity.
- Bloating or stomachache
Your Food intolerances inflame the lining of your intestines, leading to
cramping, bloating, & pain. A trigger food can also cause you to have heartburn, & an elimination diet may help root out the troublemakers.
- Headaches
Decades of research have linked
headaches — both migraines & non migraines to allergies. Among the most common triggers you may have are toxic fumes & foods like chocolate, nuts, soy, citrus, coffee, & alcohol.
- Insomnia
A dairy intolerance may be the reason you’re having trouble falling asleep & staying asleep.
- Hair loss
Alopecia is an autoimmune condition in which you lose hair on the scalp
that goes beyond normal pattern baldness. It is more common if you have been diagnosed with allergies, such as to gluten. Avoiding exposure may help you to stop & even reverse your hair loss.
- Depression, mood disorders, or psychiatric symptoms
A German study recently found that if you have doctor-diagnosed allergies
you have higher rates of psychiatric symptoms. Galland notes that teenagers with asthma are about 3 times more likely than those without an allergy to be diagnosed with depression or a bipolar disorder later in their life.
This is great information that I needed to share with you. Please let me know what you think of it & if any of these symptoms applies to you as I believe some may apply to me…
