Welcome to My World – My Journey – Punching Thru Walls
Hello World! Hope you’re doing great today! Woke up to nasty weather – rainy & chilly. My car said it was 5
8. I doubt we’ll hit mid 70’s like the weather girl said. We’ll be lucky to go into the 60’s. I’m Not complaining ’cause I know many of you have worse weather. We are having what I call “Texas Snow”. Yup, that’s rain.
I want to talk about my journey as I haven’t yet this week. I’ll try to include my journey on this long &, at times, very winding road, at least, once a week. I still have so much to learn & I grow impatient at times, wanting it to “just” happen, but that isn’t realistic.
So Much to Learn!
I seem to have hit another brick wall & this one is thicker & in order to 
punch thru it, I’ll have to get out of my comfort zone. I’ve got the writing down pretty good here, but I really need TRAFFIC coming to my blog; So today I’ll begin research online & I need to start reading some of the emails I’ve gotten as
well; those that I’ve put off reading, but can no longer do so.
This is important to me as I need to monetize my blog prior to going broke… I try to keep this journey “tongue in cheek”
This is “ME” bogged down in figurative snow at the moment.
but some issues require me to be serious & this is one of those times. I’ve punched through a number of “tech” walls successfully, so I know I can get thru this one too.
Off to do some research now…
From the little research I’ve done so far today, it 
appears that I’m not using Pinterest enough. I should probably be pinning daily & I’m not doing so. I also need to look into a few plug ins for Word Press that may help me.
Big question is “Do I do it all at once?” or “Do 
one at a time so I don’t feel overwhelmed by everything?”. Not sure yet, but I’m leaning towards step by step so I won’t get discouraged. I will take step one & increase my pinning on Pinterest first. I’ve also been reading about Tailwind. I haven’t looked at the cost yet; nor do I know how effective it is, or how to use it, but it seems many bloggers like it, so it must do something good for them.
I just read some good info by a fellow blogger with more experience than I 
have & she had some good info to share. As a result of reading her post, I’ve downloaded “Yoast SEO”. Hopefully using this will give me more visibility through Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I guess I will need to have some patience to see what effect this has on traffic to my blog. I also imagine there will be a learning curve with Yoast. I tried to do something & got a code from Google that it requested, but then it told me I don’t have a profile. So, I have to figure out what that means.
I also did a bit of pinning on Pinterest today. I need to do more & I need to 
do so daily from now on. I still pin manually as I haven’t reached the point where I pin so much that it needs to be done automatically; & I don’t quite understand how that works yet. I don’t know what it pins, etc… I can’t do it all at once. I get that “Overwhelmed” feeling when I do too much.
I have a sense of accomplishment having downloaded Yoast SEO & using 
Pinterest more. Oh, Ye Gods of Blogging, give me patience to make this work! 🙂 I enjoy writing too much to even think about giving up. I can’t think of a better way to eventually make some money. I don’t need to get rich; just to be able to pay off debt & live… And, I’d rather it be sooner than later (who doesn’t want it this way? 🙂 ).
I also use Facebook daily to share my blog as I’ve been active on Facebook 
for a long time. I even started my own little group for new bloggers, but it appears to be more of a way for me get my blog out there. I would like for it to have it’s intended original purpose. I thought Newbies to Blogging could encourage & help each other; & partly to know there are others out there like us & we are not alone in this big new blogging world. My group is called Bloggers Just Beginning (on Facebook). Feel free to join if you’d like.
Now it appears that I have an analysis at the end of my blog (from Yoast, I imagine), but I don’t understand most of it. Well, something else to figure out. Life is full of challenges these days. Sure does make the day go fast. 🙂
